MPH Faculty
The MPH faculty is comprised of researchers and practitioners with a wide array of experience. This includes professors from several different disciplines and departments within the OSU system, as well as those working within large public health agencies (e.g. county and state health departments, community-based organizations), and those administering grant-funded public health projects. This experience is brought into the classroom where our faculty expertise and scholarly work across a variety of areas.
For example, Dr. Jared Taylor’s research interests at the College of Veterinary Medicine are in population medicine/herd health and the interaction of veterinary medicine and public health. Together, our faculty and student partner with local community-based organizations, government, and tribal communities to advance the health of Oklahomans and beyond.

- Assistantships
Oklahoma State University is a Research-Extensive University. Graduate students play a vital role in both its teaching and research missions. Nearly 2,000 graduate students help finance their graduate education at OSU through employment as Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA) and Graduate Research Assistants (GRA). These assistantships typically require 20 hours of teaching/research or other duties per week and carry competitive stipends, tuition waivers allowances, and health insurance benefits.
While the MPH program does not directly offer assistantships, our faculty regularly have opportunities arise for Graduate Teaching Assistants and Graduate Research Assistants. Students are not limited, however, to faculty within the MPH program and are encouraged to seek opportunities throughout OSU. Students should contact faculty members directly to inquire about any possible assistantships
