Child in the lab

What is early childhood education (ECE)?

Address and enhance the cognitive and emotional development of children by teaching pre-kindergarten through third grade in public schools, private schools and community programs.

Why early childhood education at OSU?

You will participate in hands-on learning through four, diverse field experiences that link educational theory and research learned in the program with daily teaching practiced in the classroom. Graduates are recommended to the State of Oklahoma for certification to teach pre-kindergarten through third grade and are prepared for certification exams in other states.

Student Perspective

Lauren Blanchet

“Principals are astonished at all of the experiences the Oklahoma State Early Childhood Education degree program offers to prepare us for teaching. The knowledge I gained, and the students and teachers I met along the way helped shape me into the teacher I am today. I am grateful for the amazing professors I had at OSU.”
