Why acting or musical theatre at OSU?
OSU's theatre department annually produces four main stage and studio productions
for the campus community. Our Musical Theatre BFA students enjoy direct interaction
with highly skilled faculty in a lab and performance setting from first year propelling
them into a successful career in the industry.
These degrees are designed to prepare students for careers in the film, live stage,
and performance industry. A BFA graduate brings a high level of skill, focus, and
preparation to their respective discipline, be it acting or more the more specialized

The Vivia Nail Locke Theater in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts seats
600 as a traditional proscenium configuration.
The Jerry L. Davis Studio Theater seats 75 and is home to the Studio Season productions
of the department. These shows are often student directed and designed.
