Next steps for summer/fall entering students:

1. Submit Your Enrollment Deposit
Upon admission to OSU, all freshmen must pay the $300 enrollment deposit beginning December 1, which allows us to issue your I-20 document.
Log in to your application portal to submit your enrollment deposit.
The enrollment deposit can be refunded in part ($250) before May 1.

2. Receive Your I-20 and Apply for Your Student Visa
Student living outside the U.S.
Once we have received your enrollment deposit, we will issue your electronic I-20 document via email.
Use the SEVIS number on your I-20 to pay the SEVIS fee and apply for your F-1 student visa as soon as possible.

Students living in the U.S.
If you are currently in the U.S. on an F-1 visa, your current institution must transfer your I-20/SEVIS record to OSU before we can issue your Transfer I-20.
Please refer to the SEVIS Transfer Request email that you received from us. Upon completion, you will receive your OSU transfer I-20 via email.
If you plan to travel out of the U.S during the break, you cannot re-enter the U.S. using your previous institution's I-20 after your SEVIS record has been transferred. -
3. Create Your O-Key Account and Check Your Emails
Your O-Key account is your passport to campus. You have to set it up before you can access your OSU email account, accept your scholarships and financial aid, sign up for housing, register for classes and more.
To use your O-Key, you will also have to set up multifactor authentication using Duo Security. For help setting up your account, visit it.okstate.edu or contact the IT Help Desk at helpdesk@okstate.edu or +1 405-744-4357.

4. Register for Housing and Select a Meal Plan
Once you have submitted your enrollment deposit, you can register for housing beginning February 1. You can also apply for one of our Living Learning Programs, where you could live alongside others who share common interests or fields of study.
You're encouraged to register for housing by our April 1 Priority Housing Registration Deadline in order to receive your room assignment by late April. Housing assignments are made throughout the spring and summer based on the date and time you submitted your enrollment deposit, the housing and roommate preferences you select during registration and availability.
At this time, you will also choose your meal plan.
Please note, all incoming first-time freshmen are required to live in OSU housing.

5. Register for Orientation and Enrollment
All undergraduate international students are required to attend an orientation and enrollment program. Visit the orientation and enrollment website for more information.
Registration opens at 8 a.m. CT on February 1.

6. Receive Your Room Assignment
Room assignments will start in late April and continue through the summer based on your housing preferences and the date and time you submitted your enrollment deposit.
If you register for housing by April 1, you will receive your fall housing assignment beginning in late April and are more likely to be paired with your preferred roommate.
Check your OSU email address often for important information and updates.

7. Check for any Enrollment Holds
To check for any enrollment holds on your admission record, log into your student portal, go to “Student Profile" and click on “Holds” in the upper right corner.
Submit any updated test scores and your final official transcript(s) as soon as possible. Transcripts must be issued by your school in the original language, with English translations if applicable.
International transcripts are considered official if they are submitted to our office in ONE of the following formats:
- The transcript is submitted in an envelope that is sealed and stamped by your school or the Department of Education in your home country. Official transcripts can be mailed directly from your institution or hand-delivered in a sealed envelope prior to enrollment at OSU. See examples of properly sealed envelopes for official transcripts.
- The transcript is sent to our office electronically at international@okstate.edu from your school or school representative via their official email account or transcript e-service.
- The transcript is sent to our office electronically at international@okstate.edu from your embassy or home government.

8. Submit Your Immunization Records
University Health Services (UHS) requires students to fill out a health history and immunization form before you arrive on campus.
Students will not be allowed to enroll in their second semester until this form has been completed. You can submit the form to University Health Services in-person upon arrival OR through the mail to the address listed on the form.
Medical Insurance is also required for all international students and their dependents. Students will be provided Medical insurance upon their arrival and fees for the insurance will be applied to the first tuition billing statement you receive.

9. Book Your Flight and Transportation to OSU
You may enter the U.S. in F-1 status up to 30 days before your program's listed start date on your I-20. Be sure to keep the documents in your carry-on, as you will need them at the Port of Entry.

10. Plan for University Payments
You are responsible for paying all incurred expenses while at OSU. Please make arrangements in advance to ensure you have adequate funds available to cover at least one full academic year. Early preparation is necessary, as fund transfers, check clearance and bank drafts may take several weeks. This will also help you avoid issues with currency fluctuations or devaluations. Additionally, familiarize yourself with your government’s regulations for obtaining foreign currency and transferring funds.
Tuition and fee charges for the summer and fall semester are due by September 15. Electronic notices will be sent to your OSU email in early September.

11. Arrive On Campus
Once you are here, please complete all the required steps after you arrive on campus.
If you cannot complete your enrollment by 5 p.m. (Central Time) on the final day of enrollment, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment at international@okstate.edu to move your start date to a future semester.
