The public horticulture option emphasizes the design, installation and management
of horticultural plantings in public spaces including arboreta and municipalities.

practices.

Fast fact
OSU's public horticulture option within the horticulture major is one of only a few
bachelor's degrees in the country targeted to a career in public garden management.
Real-world experience
Hands-on laboratories are included in many courses. You will have the unique advantage
of utilizing the Greenhouse Learning Center, The Botanic Garden at OSU, and the Water
Conservation and Irrigation Training Center. All students in the department are also
required to complete an internship prior to graduation.
