The urban horticulture option focuses on production, processing and marketing of horticultural
food and ornamental crops in the urban environment.
Why urban horticulture?
You'll receive training for broad practices including small scale crop production,
vertical farming, hydroponics, container production, greenhouse production, roof-top
and organic production.

Highlights
Study abroad
In horticulture, you will have the opportunity to travel abroad to experience global
greenhouse horticultural production. Countries explored include Belgium, France, Germany
and Holland.
Real-world experience
Hands-on laboratories are included in many courses. You will have the unique advantage
of utilizing the Greenhouse Learning Center, The Botanic Garden at OSU, and the Water
Conservation and Irrigation Training Center. All students in the department are also
required to complete an internship prior to graduation.
