Program-Specific Admission Criteria
Some academic colleges and programs have specific admission criteria beyond the standard undergraduate admissions requirements or may require additional steps to be admitted to a program or major.
College of Arts and Sciences
Freshman and transfer admission to the following programs requires a separate audition process with the department:
College of Education and Human Sciences
Students pursuing the Professional Pilot major option are admitted to Aerospace Administration and Operations and then moved to Professional Pilot if admitted through the required secondary application process.
College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology
Students applying for admission to an academic major in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT), will not receive an OSU admission decision until the CEAT admissions decision is made.
- Direct admission criteria
- 24 ACT composite score and 24 math subsection OR
- 24 composite ACT score and 3.5 core GPA
- Pre-CEAT admission criteria
All students who apply as test optional and who do not meet the direct admission criteria will be placed in Pre-CEAT. Math readiness will be be evaluated, focusing on those with a 3.5 or higher core GPA, based on the following indicators:
- High school course work
- Concurrent course work
- AP scores
- ALEK scores
